Christmas jar cookies are the perfect gift to give to a friend, neighbor, or co-worker this holiday season! They're perfect since you don't have to bake them right away and can enjoy them long after the holiday season.
Christmas Jar Cookies:
Christmas jar cookies are one of my favorite gifts to give to neighbors during the holiday season! They're super easy to put together and look amazing when they're done. This guide will tell you everything you need to make Christmas jar cookies and options for customizations along the way!
Christmas jar cookies are essentially just a cookie mix layered together in a mason jar. The idea is that it kind of looks like sand art when they're complete, and can be customized easily to the preferences of those you're gifting them to this holiday season.
How to Assemble Christmas Jar Cookies:
To assemble these Christmas Jar Cookies you will need a 32oz or 1 quart mason jar with a lid. You can purchase an entire case of these at Walmart, you can also sometimes find this size at the dollar store. Your local grocery store will also have mason jars as well, often in the baking or cookware aisle.
To actually assemble these jars you will simply layer all of the dry ingredients starting with flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, oats, holiday m&ms, chocolate chips, brown sugar, and white sugar. Once everything is layered together, securely tighten the lid, and then add a bow and a card with the cooking instructions.
How to Bake Christmas Jar Cookies:
Once your neighbor receives this gift, they will need to know how to bake the cookies. They will dump the mixture into a bowl, and then they will add 1 egg slightly beaten, 1 tsp vanilla, and 1/2 cup softened butter. Once all the ingredients are well combined, they will scoop the dough into 1 1/2 inch balls, and bake in the oven at 350 for 10 minutes.
