Our stay at the Zion Wildflower Resort was the perfect way to spend our anniversary nestled in the Southern Utah Red Rocks, in the peace and beauty that only comes from the great outdoors.
We were lucky enough to get to stay just 15 minutes outside of Zion National Park at the new Zion Wildflower Resort. We've been looking forward to this for a couple months now, and The Wildflower did not disappoint. We stayed two nights, the first night in the two bedroom bungalow, and the second night in one of their covered wagons. Everything about the stay was perfect, and the decor and details they put into everything is just above and beyond.
The Two Bedroom Bungalow at Zion Wildflower Resort:
If you want to feel like you're in a five star hotel in the middle of the desert, this is for sure the room you need to get. They have both a king size bed, and a Love Sac sofa that can be configured into additional sleeping space.
These bungalows also come equipped with a fully stocked shower, towels, and bathroom, along with a mini fridge and microwave. Other little details we really loved were the swing in the main bedroom, the industrial towel racks, the full length mirrors, and the clothing rack. All the decor was the perfect blend of boho meets modern, and they did such a wonderful job of blending that through the entire resort.
One of our very favorite details were the rocking chairs that are on the porch of every single bungalow. There is something so peaceful about sitting outside watching the sunset in your own little desert haven. It's a first class experience that you're not going to want to miss out on during your stay.
What to Eat at The Zion Wildflower Resort:
When we were there, there was a food truck serving dinner, but they also have a small selection of food available in the office. There are grills along the property for you to cook your own food, and you have the option to dine at several local restaurants. When you're done adventuring for the day though, don't forget to head out to the campfire where you can make s'mores with your loved ones with your personal s'mores kit provided by the office upon arrival.
The Shared Green Space At Zion Wildflower Resort:
There is a green space/front lawn area that has a huge canopy with outdoor furniture for your to get cozy under. There are also many yard games to play like oversized Jenga, spike ball, corn hole, and a ping pong table. Derek and I loved heading out when the temps cooled off a bit to refine our corn hole and ping pong skills.
There is also the cutest kids space ever. A little magical and dreamy playhouse, along with a swing set, and a mini library of books for your children to enjoy. I actually missed my kids when we were here because I knew they would have loved playing in this space so much!
There is also a fire every night between 8-10pm. This is a great time to bust out your s'mores kit and enjoy a summer treat with your family.
The Covered Wagon at Zion Wildflower Resort:
The second night of our stay was in one of the covered wagons on site. In case you don't know, the people who settled Utah came across the country in the 1800s in covered wagons and handcarts, so the wagons are a fun little nod to the Utah heritage.
The covered wagons are more of a "Glamping" (glamorous-camping) experience, but are still equipped with a kind size bed, and twin size bunk beds. There are also different bed configurations in the wagons, so be sure to check them all out and pick what will work best for your family.
The fun boho theme gets a bit of a western flair in the wagon which I personally love. There are some really great touches like having A/C (all the bungalows, tents, and wagons are equipped with A/C which is amazing!), lanterns to use when you go outdoors at night, and even a fun little seating area where you can play games or read books before bed.
The wagons are equipped with electricity but do not have a mini fridge and microwave setup like in the bungalows. I highly recommend bringing a cooler with ice (available at the office!), and utilizing the grills if you're staying in one of these fun wagons.
The covered wagons do not have a bathroom, but there are private bathhouses for you and your family to use. Each bathhouse building has two private bathrooms inside that have a fully stocked shower, a sink, and toilet. They're kept immaculately clean, also have AC, lock from the inside, and are honestly a really enjoyable experience. There are towels in each of the tents and covered wagons, so don't forget to bring them down to the showers when you use them (ask me how I know).
If you love camping (or are new to camping), but also love sleeping in a real bed with AC, the covered wagons and tents are an awesome way to go. While we didn't personally stay in the tents I know the experience is quite similar, and you can't go wrong with either one.
