I used to be that person that thought it was incredibly obnoxious to decorate for every single holiday. Over the last year or so though, I've had a bit of a change of heart and have found simple joy in decorating our home for all the various seasons. There are things like the fall, and Christmas, that kind of demand an entire uprooting of your existing decor, which I don't think is necessary for every single holiday. I've found since we've moved into our house though, that I love leaving all the other rooms in the house as they are, but I really enjoy creating a fun and festive space in the dinning room.
We spend a lot of time in our dinning room/kitchen area. We eat three meals a day here, when I'm not cooking or eating, I'm cleaning, and the kids constantly have a snack or something going on, so I think it's safe to say we spend a lot of time in this area.
Having it decorated for all the little holidays means I have something fun to look at when I'm going about my daily routine, but it's also been fun to decorate and have those conversations with Jay about each of the different small holidays, what they mean, and how we celebrate them.

For Valentine's Day I decided to swap out the picture in our DIY picture frame with this fun Valentine's themed one from The Caravan Shoppe. I also found a lot of cute things from the target dollar spot like the pom-pom garland. I couldn't find a link for the exact one, but this one on Amazon is also super cute. I then decided to head downstairs to our school room and grab all the red and pink construction paper that we had, and made some paper hearts to fill the rest of the space on the wall, and I love how it turned out. I love that this is all stuff that won't take up much room to store, and I can take it out again, and again for years to come too.
I'm horrible about decorating for each season/holiday! I love the idea of only decorating the dining room though. I might have to start doing that :)
