Monday night in our house is Family home Evening. This is a special night where we gather as a family to pray, sing songs, have a gospel centered lesson, and then most weeks we end with a delicious treat. While making things from scratch is always fun, some weeks there just isn't enough time to go through all the steps of making a huge elaborate treat.
This week we made this s'mores cheesecake with the help of Sara Lee®and Hershey's®. This was super simple because it only involved using four ingredients and it was all ready to go in a matter of five minutes. That's my kind of treat when cranky hour is quickly approaching in our home. The Sara Lee New York Style Cheesecake was a huge hit. Jay was beside himself when his two loves of cake, and cheese had combined together for one fabulous dessert! We all went grocery shopping together at Publix this last weekend and Jay had been talking non stop since then about when we could finally eat cake. I love his entusiasim for everything lately... He doesn't miss a thing anymore!

Ingredients:
1 Sara Lee New York Style Cheesecake
Hershey's Syrup
Mini Marshmallows
Graham Cracker Crumbs
Kitchen Torch
Directions:
Thaw the cheesecake in the microwave for 30 seconds according to the package instructions. Take the Hershey's syrup and make a circle of chocolate syrup in the middle of the cheesecake. Cover the chocolate syrup with the graham cracker crumbs until the syrup is completely covered. Place the mini marshmallows on top of the graham crackers and then using your kitchen torch on the lowest setting, lightly brown the tops of the marshmallows. Cut and serve, top with extra Hershey's syrup to taste.

Thats my kind of treat. Looks easy too. I need to get better at having FHE at our house.
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog through a Design Mom comment. It looks great and I'm sure I'll be checking back in often to see what you're up to in Georgia. And I second the last comment, I need to have more regular FHE at my house. What a great idea! Y'all are such a cute family - keep posting and I'll keep reading:)

Why do you do this to me?! I'm so hungry now! lol. And the worse part is that I can't even eat this if I wanted to because I'm lactose intolerant (but only mildly now) and cheesecake is so rich that it makes me throw up :( But my dad's favorite dessert is cheesecake and his b-day is coming up so maybe I'll be a good daughter and make this for him :)
